Hi everyone,

We know it has been a while since we let you all know about this patch that is going to solve the very annoying Java bug issues. Well, we are doing the lasts tests right now.
What you all also need to know about this patch, is that it will change the DJ folder structure: it will replace the "Fluid" name with a name that reflects the new owner Dundjinni Enterprises. This also means that people will have to do some work to change everything.
There will be a few more changes, like all the art-packs that need to be installed.

I know this is a lot of information, but we will post a lot more to make the transition between the current DJ and the one after the patch as smoothly as possible. We will make sure to post a "How to" document about all this too.

Sorry for the delay in keeping you all posted via this thread

The patch seems to be ready, along with other changes. The art-packs are currently being tested by all volunteers.
Sofar there haven't been any issues that were related to the patch.

Overall DJ seems to work a little faster now. Exporting maps is still a slow process, but that is to be expected. It depends mostly on the complexity of the map.
I have Java 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 installed and I have no problems working with DJ. I even have another DJ version on the same machine
Personally I am working on a XP machine, but sofar no issues from people on Vista.

I'll update this thread as often as I can ...

BTW because I doubt there are even two persons on here with exactly the same machine, we would like you to let us know right away if the patch does something it shouldn't on yours ...

I take it the earlier issue with some of the proprietary art not working with the patch has been resolved?

Yes, the patch works with Vista, and with any Java version (or even multiple
versions of Java).

Not sure when it will be posted, but I'd imagine fairly soon.

I've been lurking for a long time... snagging the GREAT member artwork and eagerly, frustratingly, awaiting the patch. It's been very depressing making these amazing maps for my group only to have them become garbled, unprintable nightmares. I can occasionally print but usually not in battle map size.

My system is pretty decent:
MacPro Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2.66 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Mac OS X version 10.4.11, Java current and up-to-date.

I've tried most of the recommended "fixes". Nothing works for decent sized maps. I want the fix. Gimme the fix. Please, I gotta have the fix!


Seriously, if you need another Mac tester, I'll be more than happy to donate a few hours a week to you. I spend at least that much time each week on maps that *might* work.

Don't misunderstand... I think all of you are great. What you are doing has really helped revitalize my games. The regular posters and artists found in your forums are dedicated, passionate, and very generous with their time. I can't express how good it makes me feel to spot a new post by Kepli, or Blu, or Cisticola, or Heruca, or, well, you get the message. Thank you all.

At least one of the Mac testers didn't have any issues with the patch and ever reports DJ working better now

We're still a few hours out, at best, assuming that the ftp server at our webhosting provider doesn't croak on us again. Plus, there's going to be some downloading involved on the users' end, which Kep and crew will address in another thread as soon as this uploading is all done.
