I made this map for an adventure in 7th Sea that I've
written for OwlCon in February. Nothing should be
copyrighted, although the Schwartzen Walden is a forest
in the setting, it also means Black Forest. If there is
any doubt (none of which I possess), let me know and I
will post versions without possibly copyrighted details.
Please excuse the grid, I cannot remove it. I only have
the demo version of Dundjinni but am very capable with
Paint Shop Pro and png artwork. Still as much of this is
Dundjinni DOTW materials I felt this was the place to
share the images. Tell me what you think folks. This is
my first try at a forum posted map, and yes, I know the
battle map format is annoying and the repeated scale
measurements/location information is redundant. I
included it for those who wanted to print them out and
use them.
Okay detail on the actual story information: The Black
Forest is supposed to be thickly populated with numerous
hideous nightmarish monsters which lurk behind every tree
in every shadow. In the game I've had a poor innocent
young maiden captured by some of said creatures and
dragged off deep into the heart of the forest,to a lair
near this particular scene. There are a few narrow
clearings and a fallen tree across a ravine filled with
an ominous swirling green miasma. The creatures are
likely to be hiding anywhere, and I haven't decided what
sort of monsters I'm going to use for the adventure yet.
The tree is the only way across the ravine, for all
intents and purposes. It's rickety and takes an agile
hero to get across.
The Maps:

I would love to upload a PDF of the four battlemaps as
well as a GM's map of daylight conditions, and two different night maps, one featuring moonlight only and
the other featuring lighting from torches or lanterns.
But the file is unfortunately nearly 12 MB in size.
As of this moment, I'm primarily hoping these files
all go through.

Very nice work
BTW you don't have to put the DJ logo on each part of the total map. Just on one of them should be enough ... but thanks anyway

Very nice, moody maps. You can upload bigger files at rpgmapshare.com.

Thanks Kepli and Heruca. I will remember that I don't have to tag each part in the future. I've been reading about rpgmapshare a lot on here, I've been surfing the forums reading and snagging art for some time now, but haven't done anything until now. I may join rpgmapshare and post the stuff there too. I'm not very prolific though.

Doesn't matter if you're not prolific. Even if everyone only submits one or
two pieces, the overall collection would grow by a couple of thousand
pieces.

I did it! I posted the big maps to rpgmapshare.com and I'm pleased with the results. You can find The Nacht Ravine (Moonlight) and (Torchlight) in the Generic Maps gallery. I placed them there because I felt the maps were not genre specific. You could use the map for a horror, fantasy, modern, or superhero game, and it would work just as well for any of them, it's just a matter of how you use them. I did explain what I made them for in their descriptions. Of course what I made them for and what use you might find for them are likely not the same, nor ever will be.

Very nice maps. They look even nicer on rpgmapshare, for some reason. Did
you upload different versions there than here?

I returned to the original Paint Shop Pro file version of the map and re-applied the lighting and shadow effects to the whole map instead of just the clearings (a mistake I wasn't sure I could fix on the previous versions). Left off the labels, scale key, and reduced the number of Dundjinni Logos to just the one in the bottom left. That might have something to do with with the quality. LOL It also probably helps that they are a single file and image rather than a wittled down set of four. I love that rpgmapshare lets me set up a number of available views. At certain sizes, the grid disappears, and at others it is a faint remnant but it stays on the main file. I love it! I will definately be posting my few works to the board as I make them...

Kepli,
I didn't ask before because I wasn't sure if I was going to offer these openly in any format other than the battlemaps I uploaded here, but since I have begun doing so I've become intrigued by what you said... I have a question. If the maps were to be compiled in a pdf, would they have to be tagged with the logo at all as long as a cover page was included in the file with the Dundjinni logo, website info, maybe a link, and proper credit in an acknowledgement or credits page?
Anyone that can answer this question, please do. I'm very interested in learning the answer.
Also, I know this isn't the right thread for this question, but this is the thread that has led to the question being asked.
