tested out the new download format, Grey. works great with 7-zip too. thanks! 
odd. the images appear fine in my maptool folder, but in dundjinni there are some that still appear as default icons, not thumbnails.
the Arms Shipment, the Coin Box, the Stone Tablet, the Camp Fire....
(EDIT: the default icon in the dundjinni folders creates a kind of corrupted file that remains if you just copy over them. you have to delete the files completely and re-sort the newly saved images)
everything looks good now.

Ingeloak, I have no idea what you mean with "default icon". Can you elborate a bit?

default icon is the generic .png placeholder icon. if you go into your 'view' menu of an image folder, and select view as icon or tile, you get a bunch of the same picture with the image name under them. if you select thumbnail, you get a small version of the picture, a preview if you will.
well, in this problem i was having, the thumbnail still appears as the placeholder png icon, but has a tiny black clock-face in the bottom corner.
i managed to get the thumbnail to appear if i deleted the image completely, and re-saved a new copy into that folder. but as i continued saving objects, id go back into one of the folders with the affected art, and there would be the icon again, instead of a thumbnail. it is only happening in the Dundjinni folders, and only with the Nook images. but for whatever reason, these images still work just fine in Dundjinni, so it isnt a big deal.
