The maximum number is so that people don't go overboard with this. This is also about quality, not quantity

I must be really slow I have had pieces that take me up to 20+ hours to complete and get looking the way I want. Which is probably why I have not done a map. I would finish in about three years.

If a person mods another piece then he or she should mention that in the post plus would be polite to give credit for the original piece, also voters can weigh that in consideration when voting

Hear, Hear! I second that.

I guess it depends on the user. I can create a pretty good looking map in short time. When I go to try an make an object (something I shy away from at all costs) it takes me forever. Remember making a map is really a matter of composition. It's the difference between page layout and writing all of the text.
My map-making starts stretching out when I need to make or find custom pieces; when I am struggling to remember where I buried some art piece in my not very organzed art files; when I'm rendering for export or print; or when I start trying to do shading or lighting effects on top of a bunch of layers of cover or objects. On that last I've resorted to Photoshop because it is a lot easier.
I guess that I find making a map a lot quicker than creating an object. However given the ration of art creation to map creation, I may be a minority.

The objects for my competition map probably took 3-hours
to put together....and then only 1/2 hour in Dundjinni.
I am probably an exception....but I chose to do a battle map sized map (8x10) and a very simple layout and theme.
I find that big dungeons or town scenes are the toughies....
I suggest small and simple is best.....just like me....

Maps made Dundjinni size and style, using Photoshop for "assembly."
Curious as to whether or not I can enter some of my ship maps into the current contest.

Any ruling as yet, or is the lack of response a no?

No response doesn't mean no.
Anyway - enter the maps just giving a note as to what portion was DJ and what was post work.
I'll be using a lot of photoshop in my map anyway.
Rules are being bent left right and centre - multiple map entries etc - so just be honest as to what extra work was done and all will be ok.
